A bit about me

Work with patients

During my career I’ve treated a wide range of psychiatric conditions.

My specialist areas are:
• Depressive disorders.
• Alcohol related problems. I work with the sufferer as well as their family or friends who are often unable to cope.
• Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Patients can suffer a combination of physical and psychological problems following trauma. I work with a  group of skilled therapists, to help suffers.
• Workplace stress.
• Relationship issues.

Approach

Everyone is different and that’s how I treat each of my patients. I understand how daunting it can be to see a psychiatrist for the first time.

I won’t judge you: whatever you might tell me. I’m here to help and support you with objective, straightforward advice. Patients have told me that I’m easy to talk to. They often tell me things they haven’t told anyone else.

And, believe it or not, I also have a sense of humour!

Medico-legal

My experience in providing expert witness evidence is extensive. Lawyers also refer clients to me for treatment after assessment by other expert witnesses.

I was admitted as an individual member of the Expert Witness Institute on 1st December 2008.

I became an Accredited Mediator in September 2011.

I was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in February 2014.
